When the topic of the "effects of alcoholism" is discussed, many people focus on the physical consequences of alcoholism and exclude or downplay many of the other effects of alcoholism such as the psychological effects of the disease. I retired from that and am working in an outpatient community mental health facility. Although girls of all backgrounds are vulnerable to childhood sexual trauma, little is known about the psychological effects experienced by understudied communities.
