Twin Cities Autism Society runs a summer camp for AS, other websites that list camps. The consequences of this are devastating. Children who have trouble socially are at greater risk of suffering from anxiety, depression, substance abuse and social isolation. Parents may be able to use their parent's support group or local autism/Aspergers association to find other children with a similar interest, whether it be spiders, dolls or a cartoon character.
